Design and ergonomics

When compared to last year's model, the design has changed significantly. The update went well: the Galaxy A72 looks fresh and original. The brushed plastic on the back panel does not collect fingerprints. To scratch it, you will have to try very hard. It seems that we are gradually returning to the days when a mobile phone could be carried without a protective case. And this can not but rejoice.

In terms of dimensions, the model is closer to the Note line. This is a great device for fans of watching content on the gadget screen. There are loud stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The main surprise is the return of moisture protection. The Samsung Galaxy A72 is certified to the IP67 standard and is not afraid of short-term immersion in water to a depth of one meter — a nice feature that distinguishes the Korean smartphone from competitors from China.

Display

The device received a 6.7-inch screen with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. In theory, a high die-casting should make the device work noticeably smoother. In practice, the difference with the standard 60 Hz is difficult to notice: the interface sometimes stutters and twitches, animations are played with slight slowdowns. We have visited a device with non-terminal software. It is quite possible that the developers will correct minor system flaws along with firmware updates.

The Super AMOLED panel is used as the matrix. The display, as before, is characterized by a riot of colors, the highest level of contrast, a huge peak brightness and a perfectly deep black color. The disadvantages include the lack of a flicker reduction mode, which is available from almost all other manufacturers with similar screens.

Filling and performance

The gadget is built on Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, the role of the graphics core is assumed by the Adreno 618. The vendor installed 6 GB of RAM and a 128 GB drive. There is a microSD slot, combined with a second SIM card. The run in the AnTuTu benchmark gave a decent result — 282,380 points. The power is enough not only for fast operation of applications, but also for demanding games. The phone runs on Android 11 OS with an updated user interface One UI 3.1. It is cute and full of options, but there are almost no visual differences from the previous version of the shell. In the settings, you can enable the "Connect to Windows" function, which syncs your computer and mobile phone. On the PC, notifications from your smartphone are displayed, instant file sharing is available, and it is convenient to answer calls and messages.

There is NFC for contactless payment, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Inside the novelty there is a 5000 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. Moisture protection will be the envy of even the flagships, the cameras cope with their task with dignity, the performance is enough for any games. At first glance, the gadget has no serious drawbacks, but we will make the final conclusions in a full review.
